Wii Mini is now Available for $99 in Canada, Lacks Online Capabilities

After all those rumors that we have been hearing from so long about a mini motion sensor based console from Nintendo has finally announced today. The new Wii Mini console will exclusively available in Canada only, however the console will later release in other territories, for CA$99 from December 7. This new console is a smaller version of the award winning console Wii from Nintendo.
The new console lacks the ability to play games online with your friends just to keep the prices down under the 100 bucks mark. Though it is also obvious if a mini version of any product comes into the market then its most likely the company will either reduce the size or features to drop down the price compared to its original version. For instance, Apple released iPad mini and reduced the screen size to approx 8 inches however the original iPad has a 10-inch larger and sharper display.
As earlier mentioned, the new Wii Mini lacks the internet capabilities that means no online gaming and no streaming media. That’s not the only thing that this new Wii Mini lacks, there will also be no GameCube backward compatibility as well. Though what you will get for your 100 Canadian dollars is a new black Wii Mini console, a matching Wii Remote Plus and a nunchuk with the sensor bar, power adapter and a composite cable. However, if you need an HDTV component cable then you will have to buy it separately. Nintendo said that Wii Mini will be able to play 1400 disc based Wii games and the company will be closely monitoring the sales of their new smaller and cheaper console to decide if they want to expand it to other territories or not.
