Previously the Walkman music app for the Sony Ericsson was ported to Xperia devices running Gingerbread. With the music app gaining popularity and doing a pretty good job at the same time for the ported Sony Ericssons’s Xperia smartphones, guess the time has come to bring the Walkman music app to the Xperia line that runs on Android Ice cream Sandwich. The app is now available for Xperia smartphones that were launched in 2011 running ICS that includes Mini, Mini Pro, Active and Ray. The credit goes to XDA Senior Member Rizal Lovins for the app. to install the app first obviously you need to have a rooted device. The installation is pretty simple, you just have to download the recovery-flashable update.zip and flash in a custom recovery and that would be all.
Since the Walkman app port is new to the ICS so there is surely some room for improvement. A Common problem that this app reported to have with its sound enhancement that needed it to be forced close and some other bugs as well. If you face the same issue then you are required to erase the data. For better performance you should also disable xLoud since it has been reported to be nosy with the app. Though there are some other users as well who reported that this app is working just fine. So you can be one of those and to find out you’ll have to try it. Check out this thread for download links and other related instructions.
