It is here! iOS 5.1.1 untethered jailbreak of iPhone 4s / 4 / 3Gs, iPad 3, iPad 2 / 1, and other devices has finally been released, thanks to @pod2g and the Dev-Team for their great work. Its been only a couple of weeks since 5.1.1 was released by Apple to patch previous vulnerabilities, but the Dev-Team hackers have a habit of living up to the expectations of the jailbreak community. They have come up once again with an untethered jailbreak for all current iOS devices except for ATV3.
Absinthe 2.0 and Redsn0w 0.9.12b1 are the tools that can be utilized for this jailbreak. Dev-Team has updated their blog just a couple minutes ago. So hang in there for a moment while we bring you a step by step tutorial on how to jailbreak your device. Till then, you can download the following tools and get ready. If you haven’t updated your device to iOS 5.1.1, now is the time to do that. If you want to preserve your baseband for carrier unlock on iPhones, do not update to 5.1.1 until a custom IPSW is available using Sn0wbreeze.
